OCEMA – December Event

Come join your colleagues, friends, HR Buddies, and new acquaintances for our traditional end of the year holiday event.

As always, this meeting is dedicated to pure celebration, networking, and the gift of giving. Good food, good cause, and good company.

I am proud to share that we will once again honor The Ronald McDonald House of Orange County.

The idea behind the Ronal McDonald House is simple: provide a comfortable and affordable home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
Some children must travel great distances to get the medical attention they need. Hospital treatment may last a day, month, or even longer. For the families of these children, accommodations can be hard to come by; options are often limited to costly hotels or unforgiving hospital chairs.

The Ronald McDonald House of Orange County (or RMHOC) provides a comfortable, supportive alternative for these families. It serves as a temporary home near the medical facility where family members can sleep, eat, relax and find support from other families in similar situations. In return, families are asked to pay $5 per day; if that isnt possible, their stay is free.

RMHOC Executive Director, Noel Burcelis will join us to share the purpose of the Home and how OCEMA can support their cause.

Members will be able to donate to RMHOC while registering at the door.  To support our pledge, please be prepared to write two checks: one to OCEMA and the other to RMHOC.

Also, to bring cheer to the siblings of ill children whose parents often do not have the time or resources to purchase holiday presents between hospital visits, we’ll be conducting a toy drive!  Please bring an unwrapped toy for any age child to help RMHOC support their families during the holidays. They have provided us a wish list which I have pasted below the invitation content for your review if you intend to participate.

Once again, we’ll be holding our guess-a-gift raffle giveaway and we have some awesome prizes. You can receive up to two raffle tickets: one for the door donation and one for bringing an unwrapped toy.

This will prove to be a memorable event and we look forward to seeing you.

$35 entrance fee for online registered attendees

$40 entrance fee for walk-in attendees (without online registration)

$40 entrance fee for credit card prepaid online registered attendees

 

It will be necessary to charge you $35 if you make a reservation and do not cancel prior to the meeting if you do not attend.

**Parking and Door Entrance Instructions:

Parking is complimentary, follow signs to the structure for Andrei’s parking. Bring your ticket to be validated.

  • Door entrance is located on the first floor adjacent the valet driveway. West side of the building, not the main entrance of the restaurant.

 

RMHOC Toy Drive Wish List: 

 

Items we most need are:

  • Gift Cards (for parents and teens)
  • Teen items (books, games, bath sets, clothing)
  • New clothing (all ages)
  • Infant toys

 

While shopping for our families, please remember that we are unable to accept the following items:

  • Stuffed animals
  • Used items/items not in their original packaging
  • Items that promote violence
